A new trailer has been released as part of the “Hunt for Truth” campaign for Microsoft Corporation’s (NASDAQ:MSFT) upcoming Halo 5: Guardians video game.
The new Halo 5: Guardians trailer is in the form on an interview between an investigative reporter and a military personnel. The topic of the interview is Master Chief, the protagonist of the Halo series, and his home planet.
During the trailer, there are hints that Master Chief may have been part of a generic mutation program when he was still in training. Fans of the Halo novels will note that this sounds like the Spartan II program detailed in Halo: The Fall of Reach.
Other trailers for Halo 5: Guardians show that Master Chief may be an enemy in this new game.However, a second trailer paints him as the hero and leads viewers to believe that Spartan Locke, a new character introduced in this game, will be the enemy.
Halo 5: Guardians is set to be released on Oct. 27, 2015.
