Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) has found a new way to crack down on fake reviews.
The company has developed an algorithm that will help it determine which reviews are real and which ones are fake. Amazon’s move will bump up reviews that are and have been voted as helpful by customers.
The retailer sued a number of websites that specialized in creating fake Amazon reviews back in April
. Hopefully, the new algorithm will help eliminate fake reviews altogether.
“Amazon is enhancing the customer reviews system, adding a few changes we hope will help make product feedback even more useful to customers,” Julie Law, an Amazon spokeswoman said.
AMZN stock is up 0.31% Monday.
