Fans hoping to get their hands on Fallout 4 for Sony’s (SNE) PlayStation 3 or Microsoft’s (MSFT) Xbox 360 are going to be disappointed.

Matt Grandstaff, community manager at Bethesda Softworks, has confirmed that Fallout 4 won’t be coming to Xbox 360 or PS3 in a forum post. He claims that the ideas that the company has for the game “will never work” on the last generation of video game consoles, reports Mashable.

Grandstaff’s comments on Fallout 4‘s release put to rest rumors concerning a PS3 and Xbox 360 release. These rumors sprouted up following the official announcement of the game, which only included PS4, XBox One and PC as systems that would receive the game, Mashable notes.

Bethesda announced Fallout 4 via a countdown on its website that reached zero on June 3. The website was updated at this time to include the first trailer for the game.
