Basic materials stocks advanced broadly on Wall Street on Monday morning, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 0.8%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.9%, the Nasdaq was up 1.4% and the S&P 500 pushed 0.9% higher.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is up 3.6% today.

• Domtar Corp (UFS): UFS stock is up 3.3% today.

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is up 2.6% today.

• E.I. Du Pont De Nemours and Company (DD): DD stock is up 2.2% today.

• Albemarle Corp (ALB): ALB stock is up 2.4% today.

• Kapstone Paper and Packaging Corp (KS): KS stock is up 2.2% today.

• Georgia Gulf Corp (AXLL): AXLL stock is up 1.9% today.

• Graphic Packaging Holding Company (GPK): GPK stock is up 2.0% today.

• Huntsman Corp (HUN): HUN stock is up 1.8% today.

• Kronos Worldwide Inc (KRO): KRO stock is up 1.3% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is down 5.2% today and down 22.1% in the last month.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is down 3.1% today.

• New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is down 3.1% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is down 2.6% today.

• Dominion Diamond Corp (DDC): DDC stock is down 2.5% today.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is down 2.4% today.

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is down 2.2% today.

• Syngenta Ag (SYT): SYT stock is down 2.2% today.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is down 1.7% today.
