The Meerkat app will soon allow GoPro (NASDAQ:GPRO) streaming.
The company made the announcement at this year’s VidCon. Meerkat will allow high definition streaming directly from a GoPro if it’s linked to an iPhone with the Meerkat app.
Only GoPro3 and GoPro4 will be supported by the app at first. The company has yet to comment on whether
or not the feature will eventually be rolled out on Android.
High definition streaming gives Meerkat a leg up over rival Periscope.
GPRO stock is up 3.7% Thursday.
