WWE (WWE) has reportedly fired Hulk Hogan over a racist rant he made that was recorded.
Hulk Hogan’s racist rant comes from his leaked sex tape that was recorded eight years ago. In it, the wrestler refers to his daughter’s boyfriend as a “nigger” multiple times. WWE didn’t cite this as the reason that it fired Hogan, reports Fox News.
Hulk Hogan has apologized for using the racial slur. He said he doesn’t believe in discriminating against people for their “race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise.” In a 2012 interview, he said that he picked up use of the slur from black wrestler Booker T and others, Fox News notes.
Hulk Hogan isn’t the only WWE wrestler to use the racial slur. CEO Vince McMahon used it when talking to John Cena at one point while standing in front of Booker T, reports The Daily Beast.
