Basic materials stocks fell broadly on Wall Street on Wednesday morning, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.2%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 0.9%, the Nasdaq declined 1.1% and the S&P 500 fell 0.9%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is up 6.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is up 5.7%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW): SLW stock is up 4.5% today.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is up 4.2% today.

• Novagold Resources Inc (NG): NG stock is up 4.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is up 3.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is up 3.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is up 3.2% today.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 3.2% today.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is up 3.2% today and up 23.4% in the last month.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Vedanta Limited (VEDL): VEDL stock is down 7.7% today.

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is down 7.6% today.

• Rio Tinto Plc (RIO): RIO stock is down 3.0% today.

• Steel Dynamics (STLD): STLD stock is down 2.6% today.

• United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is down 2.1% today.

• Reliance Steel & Aluminum Company (RS): RS stock is down 2.4% today.

• Huntsman Corp (HUN): HUN stock is down 2.1% today.

• Neenah Paper (NP): NP stock is down 2.1% today.

• Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM): GSM stock is down 2.1% today.

• Sensient Technologies Corp (SXT): SXT stock is down 2.0% today.
