- Plum Creek Timber Company (PCL): PCL stock is up 0.9% today.
- Reliance Steel & Aluminum Company (RS): RS stock is up 0.6% today.
- Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan Inc (POT): POT stock is up 0.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Sociedad Quimica Y Minera S.A. (SQM): SQM stock is up 0.5% today.
- Sherwin-Williams Company (SHW): SHW stock is up 0.2% today.
- Carlisle Companies Inc (CSL): CSL stock is up 0.1% today.
- Sigma-Aldrich Corp (SIAL): SIAL stock is up 0.1% today.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is down 4.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Terra Nitrogen Company L.P. (TNH): TNH stock is down 3.8% today on 3 times normal volume.
- Murphy USA Inc. Common Stock Wh (MUSA): MUSA stock is down 3.3% today.
- National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is down 3.2% today.
- Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW): SLW stock is down 3.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Innospec Inc (IOSP): IOSP stock is down 2.8% today.
- Southern Peru Copper Corp (SCCO): SCCO stock is down 2.8% today.
- Huntsman Corp (HUN): HUN stock is down 2.7% today.
- Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is down 2.7% today and down 20.9% in the last month.
