Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street on Thursday, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 1.4%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.9%, the Nasdaq pushed 0.4% higher and the S&P 500 increased 0.9%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is up 7.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V (SIM): SIM stock is up 5.9% today.

• Cabot Corp (CBT): CBT stock is up 5.6%, marking the seventh consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Mrc Global Inc (MRC): MRC stock is up 5.1%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Posco ADR (PKX): PKX stock is up 4.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Stillwater Mining Company (SWC): SWC stock is up 4.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Bhp Billiton Ltd (BHP): BHP stock is up 4.6%, marking the eighth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is up 4.6%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Owens-Illinois (OI): OI stock is up 4.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Minerals Technologies Inc (MTX): MTX stock is up 4.5%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is down 3.1% today.

• Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN): BVN stock is down 2.6% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd (AEM): AEM stock is down 2.2% today.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is down 2.1% today.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is down 1.8% today.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is down 2.1% today on 2 times normal volume.

• Newmont Mining Corp (NEM): NEM stock is down 1.6% today.

• Royal Gold (RGLD): RGLD stock is down 1.3% today.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is down 1.4% today.

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is down 0.8% today.
