taser-axom-body-cameras-tasrThe London Metropolitan Police Service placed an order for the Axom body cameras made bay TASER. The exact details of the deal are unknown due to negotiations. TASR said it doesn’t plan to announce figures on the sale until its 2015 earnings report, which will be released in February 2016, reports Benzinga.

The London Metropolitan Police Service has already tested out the Axom body camera made by TASER. It did this during a pilot program earlier this year that included 1,00 cameras. There were less complaints against officers during this time and the commissioner of the police force says it’s a much-needed update to the organization’s technology, Benzinga notes.

According to The Wall Street Journal, the London Metropolitan Police Service is planning to order 22,000 Axon body cameras. TASER CEO Rick Smith  said the company is “driving a global trend toward smarter, more transparent policing.”

TASR shares were up 5% as of Tuesday afternoon.
