Disney Theatrical Productions announced the Frozen musical on Tuesday, revealing that the stage production of the movie has been in the works for years.

A musical adaptation of the animated film is scheduled to open on Broadway in spring 2018, Disney Theatrical Productions said on Tuesday.

The play’s crew includes part of the creative team behind the Frozen movie, including writer Jennifer Lee and composers Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez.

Set and costume designer Bob Crowley and Natasha Katz — Tony Award winners who worked with Disney Theatrical Productions on Aida and Tarzan — will help with production.

Frozen won Academy Awards for best animated feature and best original song for “Let It Go.”

It remains to be seen who will be cast in the lead roles.
