Microsoft Testing New Outlook.com Premium

Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is testing the new Outlook.com Premium.

Microsoft

The email service is different from the current ad-free Outlook.com service that the tech giant sells for $19.95 per year. Ad-free Outlook.com is free of graphical ads, while offering free technical support. Plus, you don’t need to log in to keep an account active.

Microsoft has yet to comment on when you should expect Outlook.com Premium to launch, or how much (if anything) it will cost to subscribe.

With the service, you can set up new custom domain accounts. Microsoft stopped accepting new registrations for the service and no longer allowed those with custom email addresses to add or remove addresses.

A spokesperson for the company confirmed that the pilot program of Outlook.com Premium is examining the return of a modified custom domain service.

On a separate note, Microsoft recently recalled some Surface Pros due to the power cables that come with the tablets posing a fire hazard.

MSFT stock is down 0.44% Thursday.
