Netflix, Inc. (NFLX) has launched its own speed test website for internet connections.
The Netflix speed test was announced by David Fullagar, the company’s vice president of content delivery architecture, and can be found here. The service allows anyone to test the speed of their internet connection anywhere in the world.
Fullagar said that the Netflix speed test was created so that users could check their ISP connections if they experience slow streams. The company said it works the same as speedtest.net and should produce similar results.
The new Netflix speed test website suggests that users with slower speeds than what they are paying for should contact their ISP with questions about their internet speeds.
