What Is Red Nose Day

The event is a telethon hosted by Walgreens (NASDAQ:WBA) that features plenty of celebrities and red noses for sale–the money raised throughout the day is used to help families that live in poverty around the world.

Red Nose Day takes place on Thursday, May 26th and the event raises millions of dollars every year. Jay Leno, Paul Rudd, Ashton Kutcher and Seth Rogen are among the celebrities who are helping create awareness of the day.

Perhaps one of the most touching stories of Red Nose Day was when Jack Black released a video of the actor talking to a 12-year-old boy who lived in the streets of Uganda. The video was heartbreaking and touching, revealing the reality that some people face every day.

The boy later benefited from the day, which helped him find a foster family and go to school.
