Fake: Images of fake “iPhone 6 SE” packaging has been making the rounds online, reports MacRumors. The images were shared via social media and have fooled some into believing that Apple (AAPL) will call its 2016 iPhone the iPhone 6 SE. However, a close examination of the images show that the packaging has been digitally altered to carry the name. The easiest sign to notice the fake text comes from improper spacing and poor alignment. The 2017 iPhone is currently expected to introduce the iPhone 7 line, not expand the iPhone 6 line.
Defect: A new report claims that Apple’s iPhone 6 smartphones are suffering from a design defect, iFixIt notes. The do-it-yourself repair blog has reported that several iPhone 6 and 6 Plus owners are experiencing trouble with their smartphones when it comes to the devices sensing touch. The problem is more likely to affect the iPhone 6 Plus and replacing the screen won’t fix it. AAPL is aware of the problem, but a fix for it hasn’t been announced. Many owners are reportedly told to buy a new iPhone because the warranty on theirs has expired. The problem is being called “Touch Disease.”
Connector: A third-party case maker for the iPhone 7 claims that one rumored feature won’t be included in Apple’s 2017 smartphone line, reports BGR. Carved told followers on social media that the iPhone 7 Plus won’t feature a Smart Connector. Some rumors have claimed this would be added to the device, but they’ve never been as strong as many other leaked features. The case maker revealed this information while saying it would have iPhone 7 and 7 Plus cases ready for AAPL’s launch of the new smartphones. This isn’t confirmation that the iPhone 7 Plus won’t have a Smart Connector, but it does add to the list of rumors that claim it won’t.
