Nintendo Co., Ltd (ADR)’s (OTCMKTS:NTDOY) Pokemon Go has been completely banned in Iran.

Iran, Pokemon Go, BanPokemon Go was banned by Iran’s High Council of Virtual Spaces over “security concerns.” The organization didn’t provide specific details as to what those concerns were. It was also previously in talks with developer Niantic over restrictions on the game.

It’s possible that the various report of trespassing and players adventuring at all hours of the day were the safety concerns. The report of robberies and attacks on players could have also been a problem. Either way, Pokemon Go trainers living in Iran are no longer able to play the game, reports PC Magazine.

Pokemon Go has been wildly popular since its launch and this has brought scrutiny to the game. At around the time of its release, there were concerns from Minn. Sen. Al Franken over data collected by the game. Players also have to keep an eye out for fake Pokemon Go apps that try to steal information from their smartphones.

Pokemon Go players also have to worry about getting themselves banned. Players that use third-party apps to manipulate the game’s GPS can get hit with a permanent bad. Selling an account or modifying the game can also result in a ban.

This doesn’t mean there aren’t ways to get help in the game. Some accessories can give players an advantage without risking a ban. There’s also a new Pokemon Go Plus accessory that Nintendo will be releasing this month. Players that get their service through T-Mobile US Inc (NASDAQ:TMUS) also have unlimited data while playing the game.
