The Sony (NYSE:SNE) Neo — or PlayStation 4.5 — will likely be rolled out at a Sept. 7 event announced by the company.

NeoGamers have been waiting patiently for the mid-gen (as it is not quite next-gen) console, and Sony is holding a press conference in new York City early next month for some sort of big announcement.

Sony will send invitations via email to a group of lucky people in the industry who will attend the event, and will probably be the first people to get the full picture of what the PlayStation Neo entails.

“PlayStation Meeting” reads the simple, yet straightforward title of the invitation for the Big Apple event. Some details of the Neo have already been leaked, including its capacity to offer Ultra HD 4K Graphics.

Additional specs reveal eight AMD “Jaguar” Cpu cores at 2.1GHz, marking a 31% improvement over the PlayStation 4. The console will also offer double the GPU cores at a higher clock frequency, tallying up to 2,304 cores and a 911 MHz clock.

The PlayStation Neo will include memory bandwidth that amounts to 218GBs–also an improvement from the 176GBs of memory that the PS4 is equipped with.

It is unclear how much the PlayStation Neo will retail for, or how widely available it will be upon release.
