Twitter Partners With Cheddar to Stream Financial News

TwitterTwitter (NYSE:TWTR) has teamed up with news startup Cheddar to launch two new programs that you can stream.

The social media site is airing one of the programs called “Closing Bell,” which will focus on market analysis at the end of the day, as well as other financial reports. The series will also feature tech news and the target audience are millennials.

The other program is called “Opening Bell,” and you can watch it live on Cheddar.com from 9AM to 10:30AM ET. It is also a finance show that features the day’s news, interviews, and it highlights the life of business leaders.

“Partnering with Cheddar will give people on Twitter another way to watch and discuss the day’s top stories as they unfold live all on one platform,” said Twitter CFO Anthony Noto in a statement.

The evolution of Twitter from a social media site to a video platform is an initiative that launched several months ago. The network will stream a number of NFL, MLB and NHL games in the coming months.

Revenue tallied up by these events will be split between the site and the sports leagues. The company’s video streaming service is under its platform Periscope.

Twitter has also partnered up with the NBA to stream original shows that will provide in-depth analysis of the sport and its athletes.

TWTR stock is up 0.4% Monday.
