Fossil Group Inc (NASDAQ:FOSL) revealed its latest quarterly earnings results Friday.

  • The watch retailer earned 36 cents per share over the course of its third quarter, lower than the $1.19 earnings per share raked in a year ago.
  • The figure beat expectations, as analysts were calling for earnings of 31 cents per share, which is five cents lower than what was posted.
  • Revenue came in at $738 million over the three-month period, lower than the year-ago’s revenue by 3.4%.
  • Net sales came in slightly below estimates as Wall Street was calling for revenue of $739.12 million.
  • Fossil Group’s return on equity was 16.91%.
  • Its net margin was 4.49%.
  • For its current fourth quarter, the watchmaker expects earnings to be in the range of 69 cents per share to $1.19 per share.

Fossil Group also made an announcement less than two weeks ago surrounding its initiative to ramp up efforts by launching more than 20 hybrid smartwatches in conjunction with a number of major companies.

The devices look similar to traditional analog watches, but they come with a little extra including a slate of smart features, such as tracking your daily walking habits and other activity, as well as informing you of whether you are being called or texted through vibrations.

Their prices will range from $150 to $350.

FOSL shares gained 5.2% Friday.
