UA: Under Armour Inc to Change Stock Ticker Symbol

Under Armour Inc (NYSE:UA,UA.C) will be changing its stock ticker symbols for its Class A and Class C shares.

Under Armour Inc, UAUnder Armour Inc’s Class A stock ticker symbol will be changing to “UAA.” The current stock ticker symbol for the company’s Class A shares is “UA.” The change will take place at the start of trading on Dec. 7, 2016.

Under Armour Inc’s Class C shares will be taking over the current stock symbol that Class A shares trade under. This means the shares will go from trading as “UA.C” to “UA.” This change will also take place at the start of trading on Dec. 7 2016.

Under Armour Inc didn’t say why it is choosing now to change its stock ticker symbols for its Class A and Class C shares. The performance apparel company didn’t announce any change for its Class B shares. UA CEO Kevin Plank owns all of the company’s Class B shares.

Under Armour Inc’s Class C shares are currently trading lower than its Class A shares. The company’s Class C shares were trading at around $26 as of Noon Monday. The Class shares were sitting around $31 during this time. This has the Class A shares trading roughly 19% higher than the Class C shares.

Under Armour Inc was founded in in 1996 by CEO Kevin Plank. It’s headquarters is located in Baltimore, Md., and it sells its goods to customers all around the world.

UA stock was up 2% and UA.C stock was up 9% as of Noon Monday.
