6 PlayStation Games Sony Will Bring to Mobile in 2017

Sony Corp (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) is launching a slate of PlayStation games for mobile in 2017.

PlayStation gamesiOS users will be happy to hear the electronics company is developing mobile versions of six games that have done well on a slate of PlayStation consoles, including the PS4. You can expect these titles to be out as soon as April 2017.

Among the games that you can expect there is the original Mario Kart from the Nintendo console as the title is a classic that many will appreciate. Additionally, there is a sports title called Everybody’s Golf, which has been a big hit so far.

Parappa the Rapper and Arc the Lad will also be released, adding some rhythm to gamers with the first title, while the latter is a role-playing game that is sure to capture the hearts of old-school gaming fans.

“With so many releases of smartphone games, it is becoming difficult to reach users,” explained Tomoki Kawaguchi, executive director at ForwardWorks, a new studio Sony said. These games will be released in Japan first.

Sony is helping users to play PlayStation games on mobile in a more efficient manner with a “smartpad” that can connect to smartphones and tablets, allowing you to play popular games on a controller.

The company is hoping to cash in on the rise of mobile games.

The global gaming market for mobile is currently worth around $35 billion.

SNE shares grew 1.6% Wednesday.
