Apple Rumors and AAPL Stock News – iMovie App Ready, But Not White iPhones

The Apple Inc. iPhone 4 is out, but you already knew that. Here’s the latest Apple rumors and news on AAPL stock as of Thursday June 24. We’ll cover everything from iMovie apps to iPhone color choices to Apple patent news.

Apple Releases iMovie on the iPhone App Store: Apple brought it’s smartphone operating system iOS4 further in line with the functionality of it’s home platform OSX today by releasing a version of its iMovie video editing software on the iPhone App Store. Priced at $4.99, the program allows Apple Inc. iPhone users to edit and create personalized high definition videos on Apple’s latest handheld device. The portable version of iMovie is not available on Apple’s iPad yet, as the program requires the iPhone 4’s faster processor to run.

White iPhone 4 Not Available Until July: Apple released a statement online yesterday afternoon that iPhone 4 purchasers looking to get a white model to stand out from the more common black iPhone are going to have to wait. The official statement from Apple reads: “White models of Apple’s new iPhone 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.” The computer manufacturer did not say whether or not this would affect preorders for the delayed model.

Apple Files Advanced Haptic Feedback Patents: A new patent application filed by Apple reveals possible touchscreen technology for the next generation of iPhones and iPod Touches. The “Multi Touch with Multi Haptics” patent details touchscreen technology that would trigger vibrations to add sensitivity to multiple parts of the screen being touched by a user. While the patent doesn’t explicitly state that the technology will be implemented in future devices, it’s a good indicator of further refinements for Apple’s products.
