Here is your daily Apple (AAPL) stock news and rumors for August 9th, 2010. It’s an all tech, all the time Monday with fresh rumors about that Verizon ready CMDA iPhone 4 we keep hearing so much about as well as details about that brand new Apple TV. Meanwhile, on the non-rumor front, Apple puts its line of new, 12-core Mac Pro desktop computers on sale.

Supply Chain Indicates Verizon-Compatible CMDA iPhone 4 in January 2011: Another day, another log to fuel the Verizon (NYSE: VZ) iPhone 4 fires. TechCrunch reported on Sunday that APPL is set to start production of a CMDA iPhone 4 that is Verizon compatible this to December, making a January 2011 launch of the device both viable and likely. Steve Cheney, the TechCrunch writer behind the latest rumors, says that Apple has put in orders for millions of CMDA chips with manufacturer Qualcomm. Last Thursday, InvestorPlace reported on the announcement of Verizon CEO Ivan Seidenberg as the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show keynote speaker and the likelihood that the even would be used as a platform to announce the January release of a Verizon iPhone. With new rumors of the January 2011 Verizon iPhone release continuing to break on an almost daily basis, it seems practically guaranteed that an announcement of the device is imminent.

New Apple TV Powered By AMD Fusion: DigiTimes is reporting that Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) will announce a new Apple TV powered by Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) new Fusion accelerated processing unit. Fusion will reportedly provide the new Apple TV with HD and 3D performance on a single-die processor. The report reconfirms many of the new Apple TV’s specifications as rumored last May, which also stated that the new 1080p television device would offer cloud-based video streaming. The key difference is that previous reports indicated that the new Apple TV would sport a custom processor like those featured in APPL’s iPhone 4 and iPad.

APPL Begins Taking Orders for 12-Core Mac Pro: Apple’s new Mac desktop featuring 12 processing cores, announced this past July, is now on sale. The new Mac Pro desktop computer is available in three separate SKUs, the most powerful of which sports 6MB of RAM and two 2.66GHz 6-core Intel Xeon “Westmere” processors for $4999. The Mac Pro also comes in a $2499 package, with one 4-core 2.8GHz Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processor and 3GB of RAM, as well as a $3499 package that features 6GB of RAM and two 2.4GHz 4-core “Westmere” processors. All of SKUs of the new Mac Pro come equipped with ATI powered Radeon HD 5770 graphics processors (1GB of memory standard.)
