Here are your Apple rumors and news items for Tuesday:

China Meets Windows: Apple‘s (NASDAQ:AAPL) victory over HTC after a yearlong patent infringement lawsuit might yield consequences that don’t necessarily benefit Steve Jobs. A Tuesday report at DigiTimes, reprinting information from an article in the Chinese language newspaper, 21st Century Business Herald, suggested many Chinese phone manufacturers are worried about coming under attack for copyright infringement if they continue to use the Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android operating system. As a result, many of them are considering adopting Microsoft‘s (NASDAQ:MSFT) Windows Phone 7 operating system for their phones as an alternative. Anything could help Microsoft at this point. The IDC put Microsoft’s share of the global smartphone market below 4% in June.

Higher and Higher: Shares in Apple hit an all-time high of $378 on Tuesday morning ahead of the company reporting its earnings for the second quarter of 2011. As of this writing, the stock still was climbing. Apple is expected to report its best non-holiday quarter in the company’s history, with a collective of analysts predicting just under $25 billion in revenue for the company, according to a Tuesday report at Apple Insider. The Cupertino, Calif., company also is expected to report 16.5 million iPhones sold during the period, more than 4 million Mac computers and nearly 8 million iPads.

More Ads Than Nokia: Apple notched off one more win against Nokia (NYSE:NOK), according to a Tuesday report at Venture Beat. Advertising network InMobi found that iPhones are now running more advertisements than Nokia phones in Europe. Both platform holders saw more than 2 billion ad impressions during the second quarter of 2011, but Apple led Nokia by 90 million. Both companies, however, still trail Google Android phones.
