Sonic (SONC) announced plans to expand the chain over the next decade.
The fast food restaurant is planning on adding 40 to 50 new locations in 2014, 60 to 70 more in 2015 and 80 to 90 more in 2016. Overall, Sonic is looking to add 1,000 new drive-in restaurants over the next 10 years.
The burger chain is looking to add to its 3,500 locations and become one of the top 3 burger chains in the country. Sonic is currently the No. 4 burger chain in the U.S. behind McDonald’s (MCD), Wendy’s (WEN) and Burger King (BKW).
SONC stock is up over 2% Wednesday afternoon.
