Another Facebook (FB) scam is making the rounds and this one has hit users of the social media website before.

fb-facebookUsers of Facebook that see an app that offers to change their theme color on the social media website are warned to leave it alone. The app redirects users to a phishing website that has them downloading malware onto their computers. The scam’s current run has already fooled more than 10,000 people, reports Mashable.

Facebook users that try to use the scam to change their profile color themes can be hacked in two ways. The first way has them watch a video that will steal their Facebook Access Tokens. This allows the hack to connect to the users’ friends. If users choose to ignore the video, it will prompt them to download the app, which is actually a porn video player, to their computers. Android users can also be affected by the scam, Mashable notes.

This isn’t the Facebook color change scam’s first run. Previous versions of the scam were released in both 2012 and 2013. Despite this, the scam still gets users with the allure of changing the color of their profile theme.

As with all suspicious links on Facebook, this one if better left ignored. The social media website actually advises users to do just this on its security tips page.
