Basic materials stocks rose broadly on Wall Street on Wednesday, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 0.1%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average pushed 0.3% higher, the Nasdaq was unchanged and the S&P 500 rose 0.3%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Murphy USA Inc. Common Stock Wh (MUSA): MUSA stock is up 2.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Sun Hydraulics Corp (SNHY): SNHY stock is up 1.8% today.

• Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 1.4%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Celanese Corp (CE): CE stock is up 1.2%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Rexnord Corp (RXN): RXN stock is up 1.0%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 0.9% today.

• Monsanto Company (MON): MON stock is up 0.9%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Dover Corp (DOV): DOV stock is up 0.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI): IPI stock is up 0.8% today.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is up 0.7% today.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is down 2.2% today.

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM): SIM stock is down 1.6% today.

• Horsehead Holding (ZINC): ZINC stock is down 1.6% today.

• Ball Corp (BLL): BLL stock is down 1.3% today.

• Berry Plastics Group Inc (BERY): BERY stock is down 1.1% today.

• Aurico Gold Inc (AUQ): AUQ stock is down 1.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Meadwestvaco Corp (MWV): MWV stock is down 1.1% today.

• International Paper Company (IP): IP stock is down 1.1% today.

• Kaman Corp (KAMN): KAMN stock is down 1.0% today.

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is down 0.9% today.
