Russia Shuts Down 4 McDonald’s for Being Unsanitary
Restaurants are closing following multiple sanitary violations
McDonald’s (MCD) is shutting down four locations in Russia.
The burger chain is temporarily closing the doors of four Moscow restaurants for allegedly being unsanitary. Watchdog Rospotrebnadzor investigated the locations between August 18 and August 20.
The McDonald’s were hit with several sanitary violations regarding the sourcing of food and waste disposal. Rospotrebnadzor also found that the Caesar roll and vegetable salad had “microbe pollution with E. coli bacteria and 10 times the safe level of microbes.”
A number of other McDonald’s locations in Moscow are being investigated at the time as well.
MCD stock is down 0.28% Wednesday afternoon with shares selling at $94.19.
