The Golden Master version of OS X Yosemite is currently only available to developers that are officially registered with Apple. It can be downloaded through the Mac App Store or the Mac Dev Center. The release of the Gold Master version of Yosemite likely means that the operating system will be released soon. The public beta of Yosemite was also updated today and it appears to be very similar to the Golden Master version.

Watch: The Apple Watch may start being manufactured for release in January of 2015, reports AppleInsider. A rumor claims that the smartwatch will be ready to enter manufacturing by January and that it will only have one supplier. This rumor claims that Quanta Computer, a Taiwan-based company, will be the only supplier of the upcoming device. Earlier rumors have also claimed that Quanta will be the sole supplier of the Apple Watch, but it’s still possible that the device could have multiple suppliers or a completely different one.

App: A report from a hands-on experience states that the Apple Watch will be controlled by an iPhone app, 9to5Mac notes. According to the report, owners of the upcoming smartwatch will use the iPhone app to download and manage apps on the device. The iPhone app will also have a user’s smartphone taking over many of the tasks of the Watch in an effort tot save battery in the latter. It’s completely possible that a new update to iOS 8 will add controls for the Watch and that it will be required to sync the device to an iPhone.
