Basic materials stocks declined on Wall Street so far on Wednesday, down 1.7%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1.4%, the Nasdaq fell 1.8% and the S&P 500 declined 1.4%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Agnico-Eagle Mines Limited (AEM): AEM stock is up 7.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Eldorado Gold Corp (EGO): EGO stock is up 4.3% today.

• Yamana Gold (AUY): AUY stock is up 3.1% today.

• Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is up 2.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Silver Wheaton Corp (SLW): SLW stock is up 2.3% today.

• Dominion Diamond Corp (DDC): DDC stock is up 1.7% today.

• Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN): BVN stock is up 1.6% today.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is up 1.6% today.

• Randgold Resources Limited (GOLD): GOLD stock is up 0.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Cliffs Natural Resources Inc (CLF): CLF stock is down 8.7% today and down 45.2% in the last month.

• United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is down 5.9% today and down 25.6% in the last month.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX): CENX stock is down 4.2% today and down 21.4% in the last month.

• DOW Chemical Company (DOW): DOW stock is down 4.9% today and down 21.9% in the last month.

• Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is down 5.2% today.

• Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB): LYB stock is down 4.4% today and down 27.1% in the last month.

• Westlake Chemical Corp (WLK): WLK stock is down 4.3% today and down 26.6% in the last month.

• Mrc Global Inc (MRC): MRC stock is down 4.6% today.

• Scotts Miracle-Gro Company (SMG): SMG stock is down 3.0% today.

• Arcelormittal (MT): MT stock is down 3.1% today.
