Basic materials stocks fell broadly on Wall Street so far on Tuesday, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 0.9%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.8%, the Nasdaq declined 0.8% and the S&P 500 was down 0.8%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is up 1.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is up 2.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Gerdau S.A. (GGB): GGB stock is up 1.6%, marking the fourth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Cf Industries Holdings (CF): CF stock is up 3.2% today.

• Ternium S.A. (TX): TX stock is up 1.6% today.

• Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 1.7% today.

• Copene-Petroquimica Do Nordeste (BAK): BAK stock is up 0.5%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.

• United States Steel Corp (X): X stock is up 1.0% today.

• Alcoa Inc (AA): AA stock is up 0.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is up 0.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:

• Rio Tinto Plc (RIO): RIO stock is down 5.7% today.

• Berry Plastics Group Inc (BERY): BERY stock is down 3.8% today.

• Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is down 3.0% today.

• FMC Corp (FMC): FMC stock is down 2.5% today.

• Allegheny Technologies Inc (ATI): ATI stock is down 1.8%, marking the seventh consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is down 2.1% today.

• New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is down 2.0% today.

• Intrepid Potash Inc (IPI): IPI stock is down 3.0%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has decreased.

• Century Aluminum Company (CENX): CENX stock is down 3.1% today.

• Leucadia National Corp (LUK): LUK stock is down 2.3% today.
