Amazon (AMZN) Travel may be a new service that could take on Expedia (EXPE) and Priceline (PCLN).

According to Skift, Amazon Travel is a service that will offer a selection of hotels to stay at near New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle. This information comes from three hotels that have reportedly signed up for the service, which could start on January 1.

The three hotels claim that Amazon Travel will allow them to post their room offerings and other information to an extranet. The hotels would pay Amazon a negotiable 15% commission fee and would be notified of bookings by email, Skift notes.

Google (GOOG) started offering users the ability to search flights last year, but it has yet to step into the hotel booking game, reports Mashable.

AMZN shares were up slightly as of Friday afternoon.
