Basic materials stocks advanced broadly on Wall Street on Friday morning, with the sector seeing an overall increase of 0.2%.

More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.5%, the Nasdaq was down 0.4% and the S&P 500 declined 0.5%.

Some of the biggest gainers among basic materials stocks include:

• Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd (ACH): ACH stock is up 6.0%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is up 3.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Allegheny Technologies Inc (ATI): ATI stock is up 2.9% today.

• Methanex Corp (MEOH): MEOH stock is up 2.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Lyondellbasell Industries Nv (LYB): LYB stock is up 2.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Kinross Gold Corp (KGC): KGC stock is up 2.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Gerdau S.A. (GGB): GGB stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Vale S.A. (VALE): VALE stock is up 1.6%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Pan American Silver (PAAS): PAAS stock is up 2.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Westlake Chemical Corp (WLK): WLK stock is up 1.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Grupo Simec S.A. De C.V. (SIM): SIM stock is down 7.6% today.

• Gold Fields Ltd (GFI): GFI stock is down 3.4% today.

• Albany International Corp (AIN): AIN stock is down 2.1% today.

• Kronos Worldwide Inc (KRO): KRO stock is down 1.6% today.

• Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is down 1.6% today.

• Globe Specialty Metals Inc (GSM): GSM stock is down 1.4% today.

• Actuant Corp (ATU): ATU stock is down 1.0% today.

• Worthington Industries (WOR): WOR stock is down 1.4% today.
