More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 1.8%, the Nasdaq climbed 1.9% and the S&P 500 was up 1.8%.

• Abiomed (ABMD): ABMD stock is up 4.5% today.

• NPS Pharmaceuticals (NPSP): NPSP stock is up 4.1% today and up 22.4% in the last month.

• Parexel International Corp (PRXL): PRXL stock is up 3.5% today.

• Nektar Therapeutics (NKTR): NKTR stock is up 3.4% today.

• Puma Biotechnology (PBYI): PBYI stock is up 3.2% today.

• Pacira Pharmaceuticals (PCRX): PCRX stock is up 3.2% today on 2 times normal volume.

• Wuxi Pharmatech [Cayman] Inc (WX): WX stock is up 3.2% today.

• Align Technology (ALGN): ALGN stock is up 3.1%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.

• Heartware International (HTWR): HTWR stock is up 3.1% today.

• Cardinal Health (CAH): CAH stock is up 3.1% today.

Some of the biggest losers among healthcare stocks include:

• China Biologic Products (CBPO): CBPO stock is down 0.4% today.

• Cubist Pharmaceuticals (CBST): CBST stock is down 0.2% today.
