Job Report: 241K More Jobs Added in December

A new job report from ADP shows that December saw an increase in jobs.

According to USA Today, the job report shows that businesses were able to add 241,000 jobs in December. This is above the 225,000 new jobs that the agency was expected to report. 2014 saw an average of 241,000 jobs a month added in the first 11 months of the year.

The breakdown of the ADP job report shows that 106,000 of the new jobs added in December came from small businesses. Medium businesses were responsible for adding 70,000 jobs and large businesses added 66,000 jobs, reports USA Today

“The ADP job survey has showed consistently strong job growth in the second half of 2014, well above that needed to keep up with growth in the labor force,”  Gus Faucher and Stuart Hoffman, economists for PNC, told Forbes. “As a result, the U.S. is slowly re-employing those who lost their jobs during the Great Recession and reducing the amount of labor market slack.”
