Game of Thrones is getting the IMAX treatment later this month.
The HBO show will be available in 150 IMAX theaters across the US beginning Jan. 23. The exclusive screening will last one week.
Theaters will show the last two episodes of season 4, adding up to about two hours of quality TV. The trailer for season 5 of Game of Thrones will also be featured with the screening.
IMAX says this is the first time a TV show will be released in such a format. The larger size and resolution of IMAX theaters should make the show a heightened sensory experience.
Game of Thrones is based on George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Fire and Ice book series.
