An IKEA crib mattress recall has been issued by the company over safety concerns.
The IKEA crib mattress recall affects the company’s VYSSA crib mattresses. This includes the Vackert, Vinka, Spelevink, Sloa and Slummer models of crib mattresses sold by the furniture retailer. The recall affects the mentioned mattresses with manufacture dates of May 04, 2014 or earlier.
The reason for the IKEA crib mattress recall has to do with the amount of room between the mattresses and the company’s cribs. There is a large enough gap between the two that an infant can become stuck between them.
IKEA has reported two cases of children becoming stuck between the cribs and the mattresses. This is what spurred the crib mattress recall. However, it notes that the infants were able to be safely removed from the cribs without harm.
Customer looking to get a refund or replacement for their VYSSA crib mattress from IKEA won’t need proof of purchase to do so.
