A measles outbreak has been linked to Disney (DIS) parks in Southern California.
A total of 26 cases have been reported as of Monday, according to the California Department of Public Health. Most of these patients attended Disneyland or Disney California Adventure between Dec. 15 and Dec. 20.
22 cases are in California, two are in Utah, one is in Colorado and the other is in Washington. All patients are between 8 months to 21 years old.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention calls measles a “highly contagious respiratory disease” that spreads through coughing and sneezing. It causes a fever, cough, runny nose and eventually a rash.
DIS stock is up 0.77% Tuesday afternoon.
