More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined 0.2%, the Nasdaq was down 0.2% and the S&P 500 fell 0.2%.

- Compania Mina Buenaventura S.A. (BVN): BVN stock is up 6.3% today.
- Sinopec Shangai Petrochemical Company Ltd (SHI): SHI stock is up 5.7% today.
- New Gold Inc (NGD): NGD stock is up 4.3% today.
- Teck Resources Ltd (TCK): TCK stock is up 3.2% today.
- National Steel Corp (SID): SID stock is up 2.9% today.
- Fibria Celulose S.A. (FBR): FBR stock is up 1.9% today.
- Aluminum Corporation of China Ltd (ACH): ACH stock is up 1.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has increased.
- Barrick Gold Corp (ABX): ABX stock is up 1.7% today.
- Goldcorp Inc (GG): GG stock is up 1.9% today.
- Harmony Gold Mining Co. Ltd (HMY): HMY stock is up 2.0% today.
Some of the biggest losers among basic materials stocks include:
- Quaker Chemical Corp (KWR): KWR stock is down 2.7% today.
- Pohang Iron & Steel Co. (PKX): PKX stock is down 3.0% today.
- Georgia Gulf Corp (AXLL): AXLL stock is down 1.8% today.
- Balchem Corp (BCPC): BCPC stock is down 2.1% today.
- Trex Company (TREX): TREX stock is down 1.8% today.
- Ferro Corp (FOE): FOE stock is down 1.2% today.
- Olin Corp (OLN): OLN stock is down 1.3% today.
- Matthews International Corp (MATW): MATW stock is down 1.0% today.
- Crane Company (CR): CR stock is down 1.0% today.
- Sasol Ltd (SSL): SSL stock is down 0.9% today.
