Jeralean Talley now holds the title of the oldest person in the world.
The 115-year-old lives in the Detroit, Mich. area and maintains an active lifestyle that includes annual fishing trips. 116-year-old Gertrude Weaver of Arkansas was the oldest person in the world before her passing Monday.
Talley’s secret to living a long and healthy life is simple–God. “That’s the best advice I can give you,” says the regular churchgoer. “It’s not in my hands or your hands.”
Five generations of Talley’s family have lived in the Detroit area. Her husband passed away in 1988.
