Spotify is looking to make the running experience more pleasant.
The company is adding a feature that will play songs at a tempo that matches your running speed. Spotify running “finds that track that matches the beat of your feet,” says Gustav Söderström, the company’s chief product officer.
Spotify will track your running movement and pace, look at your listening history and choose songs from genres that you like that match your tempo. It is also offering original running compositions.
The feature will choose faster songs if you speed up and slower downs if you slow down, adjusting itself to your running speed. Spotify is also planning a deal with Nike to “bring new music experiences” to users.
Spotify recently teamed up with Starbucks to bring a new rewards program to users.
