Amazon (AMZN) has given up on its Fire Phone following its horrible release.
The Amazon Fire Phone can no longer be purchased through the online retailer’s website. This includes all versions of the smartphone and AMZN has said that it ran out of stock last month. The website doesn’t list a time of when the Fire Phone will be back in stock, which is likely never, reports, PC Magazine.
There was reportedly an Amazon Fire Phone 2 in the works, but it appears that project is on hold. The discontinuing of the Fire Phone comes shortly after AMZN laid off several employees from its hardware division, Lab126, PC Magazine notes.
The crash of the Amazon Fire Phone when it launched wasn’t much of a surprise. There are even reports that AMZN engineers from the recent layoffs didn’t want the smartphone to be released in its current form.
