The Second Amendment sales tax holiday in Mississippi is in its second year. It offers hunters the ability to purchase ammo, gun cases, mounts, guns and other items without having to pay tax. Sales for these items are expected to increase over the weekend due to the holiday. Hunting clothes are not included in the holiday, reports Jackson Clarion Ledger.

Louisiana’s Second Amendment sales tax holiday will also be in full-swing. It allows customers a wider variety of items for purchase, such as hunting clothes and off-road vehicles. The holiday also includes a tax break on many of the same items that are included in Mississippi’s holiday, Monroe News Star notes.

Not everyone is happy about the Second Amendment sales tax holiday. The National Tax foundation claims that making holidays that are political in nature disrupts the economy. However, opponents of the organization say that the holiday has little effect on the economy, reports Jackson Clarion Ledger
