Phil Collins has announced that he’s coming out of retirement for a new album and tour.
Phil Collins said he will start working on new songs next month from a studio he will build into his Miami, Fla., home. The artists claimed that “it would be silly to not make more music.” His last album of new material was released in 2002. Collins retired in 2011, reports BBC News.
Phil Collins said that he’s interested in doing a new tour as well. He said he wants to keep the tour small and may keep it limited to theaters. However, he also wants to play in the Far East and Australia, which would require a longer tour, BBC News notes.
Phil Collins said that he’s currently interested in doing a solo album. His interest in coming out of retirement came from working on reissues of his earlier solo works. He also said he’d be interested in getting back together with fellow Genesis band members, reports Billboard
