Friday Apple Rumors: Energous Working on Wireless iPhone Charging?

The problem appears as Error 53 and it shows up after an owners of an iPhone with Touch ID updates iOS on their device. The company said that this error is part of a security feature that prevents a device with Touch ID equipped from working if the Home button has been repaired by an unauthorized source. This is to protect data on the device and it also shuts off Apple Pay.

Trade: Apple is reportedly going to allow broken iPhones for trade-ins, AppleInsider notes. Sources claim that the company will start accepting iPhones that have various bits of damage to them as part of its trade-in program. This includes broken screens, buttons and cameras. However, there is reportedly a limit as too how much damage a device can have and still be traded in. It’s believed that AAPL is doing this to encourage more customers to buy a new smartphone instead of getting theirs repaired.

ChargingEnergous (WATT) and Apple may be working together of wireless charging, reports MacRumors. A new rumor claims that the tech company is teaming up with Energous to develop wireless charging for a future version of its iPhone. There’s no solid proof that the two companies are working together, but small pieces of evidence hint that they are.  Energous technology allows devices to be charged up to 15 feet away by using radio frequencies.
