  • How many lights are on the Christmas tree? Over 30,000 lights.
  • How long do they leave tree up at Rockefeller Center? It will be light from 5:30 a.m. until midnight every day. On Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve, the tree will be lit for 24 hours, shutting down at 9 p.m.
  • How tall is the tree in Rockefeller Center? It is 78 feet, or 24 meters tall.
  • How old is the tree used for the Rockefeller Center? The tree used is approximately 90 years old and it is a high Norway Spruce.
  • Where does the tree come from? It comes from a different location each year. Last year’s was picked out of Gardiner, New York, while this year it came out of Oneonta, New York.
