The Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting is happening very soon for 2016.

- When will the tree be lit? Wednesday, November 30.
- What time? The lighting of the tree will take place at 7 p.m. and it will become an event that will run through 9 p.m. The actual lighting will take place at 8:55 p.m.
- Who is performing this year? Performers include Tony Bennett, Neil Diamond, Josh Groban, Tori Kelly, Sara McLachlan, Dolly Parton, Jordan Smith, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, and the Radio City Rockettes.
- Where is the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting taking place? It is at the Rockefeller Plaza, between West 48th and West 51st Streets and Fifth and Sixth Avenues.
- How many lights are on the Christmas tree? Over 30,000 lights.
- How long do they leave tree up at Rockefeller Center? It will be light from 5:30 a.m. until midnight every day. On Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve, the tree will be lit for 24 hours, shutting down at 9 p.m.
- How tall is the tree in Rockefeller Center? It is 78 feet, or 24 meters tall.
- How old is the tree used for the Rockefeller Center? The tree used is approximately 90 years old and it is a high Norway Spruce.
- Where does the tree come from? It comes from a different location each year. Last year’s was picked out of Gardiner, New York, while this year it came out of Oneonta, New York.
