Apple Pay Cash: AAPL is planning to launch its Pay Cash feature sometime next month, reports 9to5Mac. This information comes from the tech company’s own website. A footnote at the bottom of the Watch Series 3 page notes that Pay Cash will be coming in October. This means it will likely be included in the next update to iOS 11 and watchOS 4. However, the new betas for iOS 11.1 and watchOS 4.1 don’t contain the feature.
iOS 11.1 Public Beta: The first public beta for iOS 11.1 is now available, MacRumors notes. This new beta lets public testers try out features that will be coming to devices that run the mobile operating system. What all will be coming in this update is still unknown. We also don’t know when this update will be ready for its final release. What we do know is that the update will include bug fixes for issues found in the current version of iOS 11.
iPhone FM Radio: The FCC is pushing for Apple to activate FM radios in its smartphones, reports AppleInsider. FCC Chairman Ajit Pai is behind the call for AAPL to unlock the feature. The part necessary is inside of all iPhone devices, but the tech company chooses to keep it off. Instead, it wants customers to listen to radio through apps. The problem here is that signal and internet can be lost during times of crisis, such as hurricanes. An FM radio could potentially allow people to stay updated on what is happening without requiring access to the internet.
