Leading the Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) rumor mill today is news of how to disable Face ID. Today, we’ll look at that and other Apple Rumors for Friday.

Friday Apple Rumors: iPhone X Owners Can Disable Face ID
Source: Apple

Face ID: Apple is allowing users to disable Face ID to protect their data, reports Cnet. Customers that buy the iPhone X will be able to disable Face ID by holding buttons on each side of the device. This means that users can simply hold these buttons while handing the device over to a thief. This in turn means that the thief can’t just have the owner look at the smartphone to unlock it. It is still unclear how long this lasts for, or how long the buttons must be held to disable Face ID.

iPhone X Supply: A new report claims that Apple won’t be able to keep up with demand for the iPhone X, MacRumors notes. This report comes from KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. He doesn’t think the company will be able to match demand until the first half of 2018. The analyst also notes that it may take even longer for this to happen. To top it off, he believes that some versions of the device will have more restricted supplies than others.

iPhone 8 Preorders: Apple is already selling out of some versions of the iPhone 8, reports Fortune. The preorders for the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus went live last night. Customers have already started to run the company out of supplies for devices that will show up on Sept. 22. However, there are still some available. While this doesn’t reveal exact sales of the devices, it does show that there is still interest in these smartphones, despite the iPhone X coming out later this year.
