Macy’s Inc (NYSE:M) will be open on Thanksgiving this year to start Black Friday off early.

Black Friday 2017 will see Macy’s Inc opening its doors for customers at 5:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Many locations will remain open all through the night and won’t close until 10:00 p.m. the following day. However, some will close at 2:00 a.m. and open back up at 6:00 a.m.

News that Macy’s Inc will be opening up at 5:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving comes from BestBlackFriday.com. The retail company has yet to release an official statement on the matter, but five stores have confirmed their Black Friday hours for 2017.

Macy’s Inc opening its doors at 5:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving falls in line with its previous Black Friday times from 2016. Prior to that year, the company was opening an hour later for the sales event at 6:00 p.m. on Thanksgiving.

Macy’s is currently the only one of the major retailers that have had their Black Friday hours for 2017 confirmed. However, we are sure to see more updates on store hours as we get closer to the Thanksgiving holiday and the shopping event that follows.

Black Friday takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving every year. The event offers customers deep discounts on items to push sales. This allows holiday shoppers to grab gifts cheap before Christmas. The event has been moving closer and closer to Thanksgiving and now many stores start their sales on Thanksgiving day.

Black Friday will take place on November 24 this year.
