Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Alphabet Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,GOOGL) Google, is planning to fix the company’s cheeseburger emoji.
Sundar Pichai’s promise to fix the cheeseburger emoji on Google’s devices came after a debate about the icon started on Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR). The whole thing came about because of a Tweet from Thomas Baekdal.
“I think we need to have a discussion about how Google’s burger emoji is placing the cheese underneath the burger, while Apple puts it on top,” Baekdal said on Twitter.
This kicked off a debate about the placement of the cheese and many users came together to weigh in on the matter.
- “Obviously, cheese must be on top of meat. But lettuce must be insulated by the tomato – so both are in the wrong.”
- “I make my burgers completely upside down. The bottom bun gets soggy! I use top as bottom. Bottom, tomato, cheese, meat, lettuce, top bun. ?”
- “Wow nobody is doing it right, this issue needs to be addressed and resolved ASAP! ?”
- “They’re both wrong. Google’s cheese is wrong, Apple’s lettuce is wrong. The correct order, from bottom up, is burger – cheese – toppings.”
- “Going to be controversial here and say that lettuce needs to stay out of burgers. Awful wet, limp stuff. Ruins the burger.”
